Thank you... beat me to it hebridescave...

No one wants to see this and to say that Browns fans have something to smile about this... well sir, you are not a Browns fan.

Like most of us, our prayers are with Ben and his family. I can't wait to see him back on the field in black and gold.

General consensus seems to be he'll be ready for the season, now.
I think the Trib got pole-smoked about the knees.

I think Joey Porter put it best in last year's NFL.com story:

"If I fall off a Jet Ski, I hit the water, and I like my odds," Porter said. "I'm going to get wet. What I say about motorcycles is that concrete is undefeated."

ben, the helmet-less cyclist, was typically stupid. athletes and folks under 30 in general believe they're bullet-proof.

that said, NO ONE has something like this coming to them. i remember when my fiancee was killed in a car accident 21 years ago, one friend of mine actually said, "man, she must have been driving pretty fast."

as if it was her fault for being killed.

why do some people have to play the blame game? i just don't get it.

    ESPN and Clayton too?

ESPN.com's John Clayton has confirmed a report that Roethlisberger also suffered a 9-inch laceration to the back of his head, lost teeth and has knee injuries from hitting the pavement. A plastic surgeon has been called in.

WTAE mentioned brush burns. My only concern is that he's still in surgery. Is that typical?

For a fractrured jaw, not that surprising.
For all we know, too, he may have been out and in recovery and no one wants to say anything until he's awake, which might be a while.
