I haven't listened to Undercover in ages, but it always struck me as very similar to Emotional Rescue.

The song Emotional Rescue has no equivalent on Undercover, if memory serves. But trade the disco experiment with Undercover Of The Night and its a very similar album, albeit "updated" with early 80s trends.

A Bigger Bang might not have been the five-star masterpiece Rolling Stone thought it was, but it was a very solid old school blues-rock album. "Rough Justice" and "Oh No, Not You Again" were terrific songs.

Funny, Houses of The Holy was one of my go to albums for extra adrenaline rush before games in HS but now it does not do anything for me. The Stones still are in the regular rotation and their songs sound as good now as they did back in the day.

BTW - No Quarter is one of worst songs ever.

Over the Hills and Far Away is my favorite Zeppelin song and probably my favorite song of all-time.

Man, Page's tone on the main 'No quarter' riff is pretty great.

There are actually a few good songs on there. "It Won't Take Long" is good. "She Saw Me Coming" is good. "Oh, No, Not You Again" is good. "Dangerous Beauty" is good.

I don't doubt the sincerity of people posting here. But at the same time, it's become fashionable to say that anything the Stones have written since 1981 "sucks." I feel like that's hyperbole (as is Rolling Stone mag giving Mick's solo album five stars and "Bigger Bang" close to that) and sometimes just reflexive.

Jagger's part of Dave Stewart's Super Heavy project, which I think is great.
But I just have no use for the past 30 years of the Stones stuff. I remain an avid fan of their first 20 years of material.
I am among the peopl who wish they would've hung it up a long time ago.

Got to agree on that. Creepy. As are John Paul Jones' electric piano/organ fills.

It's not my favorite Zep song or favorite song on that album by any means -- I mean, it's a tribute song about Zep's roadies for Christ sake -- but it has its dark charms.

And, for the record, I am not really talking about people on this board necessarily, who at least seem to put some thought into their opinions. I'm talking more about people in the public at large, who would spout authoritatively that the Stones have been washed up since 1971, but have never listened beyond "Satisfaction" on their "Hot Rocks" double CD.
