  1. Ragu - I don't know who you are but I've always pictured you as Jack Welch's illegitimate son.

    Please don't ruin my delusion.

Romney found his sweet spot tonight in his speech. He seemed painfully cautious when in the muck of primaries. Tonight, he was bold. Unapologetic. Oozing of confidence.

Of course, I am unsure how much speeches matter in 2012. I do believe that November won't be about winning the middle as much as rallying each base.

  3. The speech put him on the offense. He took away many of Obama's talking points.

Congrats to Romney for cracking 60 percent in two states.

I think that can be said of many elections now, given how polarized the electorate is.

  8. Tonight was the night that the seas of debt began to recede.

    It's morning in America people!

    Morning in America.

    (I have a freakin erection!)

I don't know if it is Morning in America but Romney is, clearly, framing this as a 1980-style decision.

Are you better off now than you were four years ago?

And what will people be talking about tomorrow? The President slow-jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon.

I read an interesting thing on TPM today arguing that the Dems would be wise to paint Romney as a hard-liner rather than going after him for being a flip-flopper. Which is probably smart - let Romney do that himself.
I have no doubt that Romney is a strong candidate - getting the GOP nomination might have been the toughest part of his quest.
