  1. The last time the Democrats actually passed a budget - Sarah Palin was still governor of Alaska.

Well, considering they've been in the minority in Congress since 2010, that sounds about right.

  3. The Senate is still controlled by the Democrats yet Harry Reid specifically will not produce a budget because he doesn't want to take responsibility for what his party wants to waste taxpayer money on. Instead they try to distract with meaningless issues like this

The House continues to pass bills that the GOP knows the Senate would never pass, but you'd have to know about politics to know that.

True, but even I think Harry and the Senators should at least put forth a budget. It's what they're paid to do.

back to the topic at hand, Romney in all likelihood will not win his home state. Only three people have lost their home state and gone on to win the election. Can anyone guess the most recent?

George W. Bush lost Connecticut in 2004.

home state at the time of the election, not state where he was born (though Romney likely isn't winning Michigan either)

Then it's, what, Nixon? He lost New York every time he ran, I think.

Nixon it is. one of only three presidents to lose their home state, the others being Polk in 1844 and Wilson in 1916

  12. Obama didn't win Kenya in 2008
