So, you don't know. I'm so glad that didn't stop you from assuming.

I only paid $40 for dry cleaning this last year. I must have really dirty clothes.

This whole thing is a painfully dumb assumption. I'm sure you have no problem finding real things to bitch about with regard to Romney. It's when people waste time willfully misunderstanding a story (Ann Romney hires someone to pick which Caddy her kids ride!!!!) and using broad assumptions to allege ... I don't even know what ... that I go a little crazy.

I just don't know why you'd waste your time dreaming this crap up.

The Romneys were the ones who didn't say how many hours their housekeepers worked. If they were only part-time, then they should have said that they were only part-time. Instead, they declined to elaborate.

Instead, we're left to speculate that the Romneys are either short-changing their employees, or just plain cheapskates.

And this whole thing started because Mitt claims his wife knows some things about the economy. Which, thanks to their wealth, is ripe for mocking.

BTW, for those of you who don't read the book thread, I'd recommend the book "The Real Romney," which I'm reading now. It's written by two Boston Globe reporters and very thorough. I'm only to the part where he's in grad school so I don't know everything about him yet.

Didn't this whole episode start because Mitt claimed to take economic advice from his wife?

Yep, and I'm sure he did.

"Which Caddy do you want to take to the country club, honey?"

So being a mom is the hardest job one can have. It's totally work, and anyone who says otherwise is a sexist.

Unless you're poor. If you're poor, you need the dignity of work. Preferably from day one.

Motherhood is so awesome Willard-Mitt and his crew want to force women into it, even when they don't want to.

Dixie, I would give Romney a pass on an extension, except thay during the primary he had to be beaten down by his rivals before he would release his taxes. My suspicion is he doesn't want to have to show his 2011 returns before the election. And that plenty are going to beat him down about the extension. So he's telling us the current leader of the free world has time to do his taxes, but the guy running to replace him doesn't? Seriously? From a guy who could afford to have 100 accountants working on this 24-7?

Which is funny coming from the party that chose to rip on Hillary Clinton because she chose a career instead of staying at home and baking cookies.
