if an african-american with ron's resume was caught doing this, NO WAY he's fired.

I thought before giving him that answer but I couldn't say he wouldn't be canned and mean it from the heart. Sorry Shock but that's the way I feel.

But Shock, I don't think I'm wrong. Sadly my colleague agreed with me.

Hey, you have your opinion. I have mine and my colleague has his. That's why it's called Amerikkka.

    kumbaya, back at ya! ;D ;D ;D

  8. boots, this is inaccurate. a respected colleague at my shop was busted and kept his job, although he was demoted. the guy was a star in our newsroom. he's actually a very good journalist who made a terrible mistake.

  9. Thank you, Redd.
Yes, based on the facts as I know them.

White, black, red, green, unless there's prior history, I don't see how this is a firing offense for someone of Borges' stature and experience. A rookie, maybe, but not a veteran pro.
Two months unpaid seems about right to me.

  11. Want to clue us in on where exactly is the point in your career it becomes more acceptable to plagiarize, so we all know? If anything the vet should know better than the rookie and should get less slack.
