Does anyone remember a picture of an old man playing Press Your Luck that someone photoshopped spnited's name over the guy's name tag? I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. It had to be four or five years ago, which would've put spnited in his late 50s. Hardly old. Maybe for this business, but still, not that old.

Wow, that's scary that someone is out there, doing sj-inspired stuff on youtube. Not as scary as JDV videos, but still...

Bubbler IS funny, but the "Bubbler's not funny" video is wicked funny. The girl's facial expression is priceless.

I'm not in the business. But I almost was.

I never really had much interaction with Ron, but his posts always made me laugh or sometimes even think. Had I stuck with it, he would've been a great boss to have, the kind I'd want to have, the kind that's increasingly becoming fewer and farther between in a time where looking at someone the wrong way or for two long lands you in the HR director's office.

Here's to the curmudgeons. And Ron, here's to you. SEC4ever.

    Thanks for the link.

Looking back, I knew there was one occasion spnited told me to fuck off, and that was it. :)

This makes me happy and I'd like to think it would make Ron happy, too, as he attended two of SportsJournalists.com's "official" gatherings and other non-official ones. Welcome to the family.

Thanks Xan and BYH and others for representing "us" at the funeral. I miss the old man.

BTW, Sxy, just who was that guy in the elevator in Toronto? :)

I was thoroughly embarrassed I didn't figure it out sooner, but leave it to Ron not to worry about that for an instant.

And welcome, HM. This family can always expand to add another quality poster such as you.

Sxy and I got into the elevator in Toronto the day a bunch of went to the Hockey HOF - Thanks, Huggy! - and Ron was there. Neither of us knew.
