Wow. So what you're saying is the way a guy looks on a 21-year-old baseball card is proof that he did something sometime.

    It's a good thing you're not a cop.

Well lance my balls with a rubber pitchfork and call me Mary Queen of Scots.

The photo on that card is Otis Nixonian.

Just heard Tim Kurkjian say the Rangers are "just hoping this all blows over."

Ladies and gentlemen, that's quality stuff ... I mean a great line ... OK, I'm done.

To anyone who honestly believes this was his first foray with coke, I really wish you would have been my parent growing up......

Just to clear something up from the previous page, RE: Len Bias.

In the documentary released earlier this year as part of ESPN's 30for30, Brian Tribble admitted, after years and years of denying it, that he and Bias were semi-regular cocaine users.

Michael Weinreb's excellent piece on Bias addressed the myth that it was the first time as well, calling it almost certainly false. It came out before Tribble admitted on camera it wasn't the first time.

I'm certainly not going to endorse using cocaine, but Bias' death was used to scare the shit out of people -- "IT CAN KILL YOU THE FIRST TIME YOU TRY IT!" -- and it was an effective scare tactic to say the least. Lefty Driesell and Bias' mom really wanted it to be the case, but there is plenty of evidence that suggests it almost certainly wasn't the first time Lenny used coke. Including the medical examiner's final report.

If you don't have the enzyme to break it down, the first time can be the last time.

Your opinion is duly noted and as usual demonstrates your desperation to apologize for any baseball player or manager who might have a problem.

This is not a one-time user of illegal drugs. We know by his own admission that he has done it in the past, even if you are naive enough to believe that this was the first time he used cocaine. I am not that naive, so I find his apologies to be a joke. He seems to be a lot more sorry about getting caught that he is about actually using drugs.

If Washington was dealing with the situation honestly, I would feel differently. But I believe he is lying about his drug use. That is not how you overcome a problem. And even if he is not an addict, which I wonder about, he has some serious issues if he decides to start snorting coke at his age.

If this really did come out because of a failed blackmail scheme as reported, I am absolutely disgusted by the fact that Washington has had to go through this publicly. He seems like a good man who has made some mistakes and he did not deserve to have this dragged out into the national news.

I'm not even saying he deserved to lose his job. I am saying that the Rangers were foolish to entrust a man with the issues Washington obviously has to run their team, especially given the fact that he offered to resign. If he would stop lying, I would have tremendous respect for the way Washington has handled this. No way in hell I would want him running my team.

You've demonstrated you know absolutely nothing about industrial policy in the United States. Furthermore, you may want to note that Washington has done an exceptional job on the field and Nolan Ryan, among a huge majority of others, disagrees with your stupid premise.

And don't worry about ever running a team because you're barely qualified to flip burgers or whatever it is you do for a living.
