    Just as an aside - Scheider was supposed to play the Robert DeNiro role in The Deerhunter and he was also the first choice to play John Rambo in First Blood.

    He was in Sorcerer, which is a great movie (remake of Wages of Fear) with an awesome soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.

    "52 Pickup" is one of the halfway decent films based on an Elmore Leonard novel. Most of them are absolute dreck

    The best of course, is "Get Shorty".

    Travolta's "I've got an idea for a movie" breaks me up every time I hear it.

    T1 -- Great call.

    Chris -- I knew about Deer Hunter -- I think he was contractually bound to do Jaws II, IIRC -- but Rambo is a new one on me.
    What a strange casting that would have ben.
