Wait, are you seriously trying to convince people that Rhonda spends a great deal of time claiming she's "hot"? That's absurd - I've known her for years, and that's not even vaguely true.

It's really pathetic to see the idiots in this thread who seem to think that it is OK for the Royals to pull a credential because the female reporter isn't cute enough for them.

Rhonda has irritated her fair share of people over the years - athletes and journalists - by doing her job the way she thinks it should be done. She's not going to suck up to owners, team presidents or members of the BBWAA.

Her style might not be your cup of tea, and that's fine. Criticize her for that. And if you truly believe she did something worth losing a credential - something I've seen absolutely no evidence of - go ahead and say that.

But if you can't come up with anything better than attacking her looks or her weight or her hair, go back to the shallow end of the DNA pool and let the adults have a conversation.

I heard Bob give an interview to Mason and Ireland's Big Show on KSPN-AM (710) in LA today. He said there's going to be a cooling-off period and hopes to meet with some of the Royals bigwigs again later, but said he doesn't expect to get his credential back this season (partly because it would make them look even sillier, he said).

Are you serious? Do you really see anything in my messages that said 1. that they should have pulled her pass or 2. that they should have done so based on how she looks? Show me where I said ANYTHING like that. Just saying she isn't hot isn't saying she shouldn't be able to cover the team. I think they should all be able to cover the team.

And I did come up with some better complaints than her "looks or her weight or her hair." In fact, I spent most of my first post talking about how she asks stupid questions, covers a typically ass-kissing performance with one or two legit questions, pretends to be butt buddies with all the players, and spends most of the rest of her time telling us how tough all of her questions are and how tough she is.

If you can't read stuff right the first time go back to the shallow ... oh, screw it.

Pilot, ask yourself why you even brought 'hotness' into the discussion. This is the journalism side of the board.

    I noticed nobody's talking about Fescoe's 'hotness.'

I have no idea what Moss looks like, but I have heard the guys on her station go on like she's some kind of bombshell. I never heard the other station do that with Fescoe. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that, in defense of Pilot it was her station that started making her looks a topic of discussion.

    Well thanks Jake.

Ya know, I did bring it in just as a side joke, and maybe it does point to how sexist I really am, but Jake's right in that they do talk about it. They sell her as a hard-nosed, no-shit, tough questions babe, and frankly I don't agree. Like I said, I think she often asks cupcake questions, covers them with a few hard ones, then proclaims herself a tough reporter babe not afraid to get dirty.

I don't think her gender is an issue when it comes to her pass being pulled, but make no mistake: her station makes it an issue when she's giving reports and when they're promoting one of her interviews.

Can't these two apply for AL credentials that would give them access to any AL ballpark?

OK, so they make it an issue. Why do you have to make it an issue? Why stoop to their level?

It's the same as Whitlock calling himself "Big Sexy". Is it true? Well....to each his own. Does it get brought up on the board? Absolutely. But does his proclamation have any effect on the way he does his job? Of course not.

It's not like Pilot went out of his way to find a picture of her and throw it up on the board and said "Look how ugly she is. She should have her credentials revoked." He was making a point about her job and what goes on when she's on the air, which pertains to this discussion.

Really? How does this pertain to the discussion?

Because she has Betty Boop as her picture on the station's website.
