If they had the stones to have a presser when they made a decision to openly search for a new GM then this whole thing never would have happened. Very good stuff, JW.

Apparently, Rufus Dawes' summer job of mowing lawns and delivering papers dried up on him....sorry to see it, it's amazing how many things this team can screw up...

i posted this about 8 pages ago, but whatever problems people have with whitlock and his ego should be put aside. we should all thank him for taking up this cause. letters from the SPJ or press club are nice but like him or not, whitlock is a nationally known voice. JW, i'm glad you're not letting this one die.

  5. this is far from over. right now i'm thinking about skipping games 6 and 7 in dallas and going home to meet the royals on their home stand....

Go for it. If you're lucky enough, maybe they'll revoke your credential. Not only would the fun really begin, but you'd be one lucky SOB not to have to sit through another game this year.

Go back to KC and take care of this thing. Plus, I find this 10 times more interesting than the NBA Finals.

    Jason:

Loved the column but its depth and the fervor with which it was written begs one big-ass question:

Why did you wait until now to go after the owner with such venom? It's clear from the state of the franchise that Glass has methodically stolen a jewel for KC fans. The revocation of the credentials was needed to spark the column?

I apologize you've bashed the guy on this level previously. I don't follow your paper's coverage of the Royals.

Any time's a good time to start bashing these poor-mouthing billionaire grifters.

I've read Whitlock columns as far back as 1997 that blistered Royals ownership.

As good as that column was, it screams "I'm bored until football revs up." Either that or he's run out of new things to say about Bonds. It's not new around Kansas City to be critical of how the Royals have been mismanaged.

yup, gonna miss games 6 and 7, eh? here's betting you can better feed your very large ego and body better in dallas.

Jason, if you can, explain why the Star didn't support the two radio people by not staying away from at least one game. Is it because the Star is the only game in town and people expect you to be there every game -- and the public really doesn't care about two radio reporters being banned? Or does the Star not consider them real reporters? Or am I missing something?
