Kind of like national title games involving Miami and Ohio State?

Not quite. That Troy Polamulu (sp?) overturn was the biggest horseshit call I've ever seen. At least since the referees determined Bert Emanuel didn't catch the ball against the Rams, thereby avoiding a potential Titans-Bucs Super Bowl that would have lagged behind The X-Files in the ratings.

The Bettis thing was a fluke. Without the horseshit Troy call, the Colts are almost certainly never in position to tie or win the game in the final minute.

When the Colts failed to take advantage when they got the ball back and turned it over on downs.

Speaking of fixes, the Bucs-Rams NFC title game never did quite sit right with me. Even now, I don't like the call that kept us from seeing the Bucs-Titans Super Bowl we all wanted to see. :D

EDIT -- Damn, BYH beat me to it.

    They want a Cowboys-Patriots Bowl.

Nah, Patriots already got theirs. They want Marty and LT now. And given Katrina, maybe the Saints.

The NFL sure doesn't want another Giants-Ravens debacle.

That won't be a concern after about 5 pm Sunday.

I didn't watch one play of that Super Bowl, and like whoever else said it last night, will not be watching at all either if the Ravens go back. Fuck the Ravens.

I said that. I was working the desk in the Tampa area putting together a four-page wrap for that game. What a waste.

I think a lot of papers decided to do jettison Super Bowl wraps after that joke of a game. Nobody fucking cared then or now.

They'll take Parcells vs. Belichick in a heartbeat.
