In hindsight, at least know that the game didn't hinge on this call.

Couldn't stay out of the box, and the penalty kill was pathetic ... Whalercanes got blasted off the ice in first 20 minutes Friday ...

  2. Another pathetic dangerous hit by a Flyers skater (Randy Jones) has sent Boston center Patrice Bergeron to the hospital, last update was still unconscious. When does the NHL start to suspend the coach, fine the GM and Owner. 3 friggin sickening hits by Philadelphia this season alone.

John Stevens can talk all he wants about the direction and philosophy but actions speak louder than words.

And a big F U to the announcer crew in Philadelphia to even defend Jones while Bergeron is out on his back.

It was a dirty hit, no doubt about it. I can't see anyone justifying or rationalizing what Jones did. Hope Bergeron is OK, but it wasn't a good sign that he wasn't even moving.

  4. Update: Bergeron conscious, able to move his body, broken nose and a concussion.

It is the same reason the Cubs haven't won in 99 years — who ever is running the show is more concerned about the bottom line than winning it all.

For anyone who questions why I despise the Flyers ... three examples this year should say enough.

The NHL really should go after them with more vigor. If Gary Bettman is so intent on cleaning up the product - and we know he's a little overzealous most of the time - why not throw the book at Philly?

The Sportsnet idiots went on and on about how contrite Jones was, how he issued a statement during the game, blah, blah, blah until Bill Watters chimed in as the voice of reason and said, in effect, can we not talk about how bad Jones feels and focus on the guy who left on the stretcher?

How nice of Jones to be contrite. Did he NOT see the hits two of his teammates delivered in the last few weeks? ::)

  10. Huggy - Typical reaction by some in the hockey community to comment on Jones being a remorseful jackarse while Bergeron lays in a hospital with a broken nose and concussion. I hate the Flyers, their history, and ownership.

  11. Crosby is inching closer and closer to dropping the gloves this season.
