Pens and Habs each 0-for-7 so far in the shootout.

  4. Markov just kills Pittsburgh every season and tonight was no different.

If you're Jordan Staal, you have to wonder how Whitney, Gonchar, and Recchi are getting shootout opportunities ahead of you.

It was a bad hit, but I don't think it was worse than any other hit like that. Was the end result worse? Of course, but until you take hitting totally out of the game that is going to happen.

Downie and Boulerice deserved what they got, there was intent there. I didn't see it here, just two guys trying to play the puck.

With the Bruins having done a Travis Roy tribute last week, it was hard not to think of the possibility Bergeron might end up in the chair next to him.
The Bruins have historically gotten the short end of disciplinary decisions from the NHL office. I'll be plesantly surprised if Jones gets 20 games.
Good line from Jack Edwards: "Jones was given a game misconduct, for his own protection."

Just goes to show how much I pay attention to NHL anymore ... I had no idea the Devils were going into a new arena.

Sooner or later, someone is going to die unless the cheap hits are eliminated from the game.

Too late to simply throw the Flyers out of the league? For someone who is as obsessed as Gary Bettman is to clean up the game, why doesn't he take more drastic action?

I don't think it's a Flyers-only thing. In every game, you can see multiple hits from behind.

That said, if Bettman's serious, he drops an epic fine on the organization and suspends Jones for 30 games. Sometimes it's better to make an example out of someone. This is one of those cases.

I know you see hits from behind in every game, HB. But the Flyers have done this crap three times already this season. That's no coincidence.

That's why Bettman's got to drop a huge fine on the organization and suspend Jones for 30 games. Send the message that the NHL is not going to tolerate this garbage.
