Hockeybeat - as I posted a day or two ago, Chara went after a guy with a cut to make him seem like an enforcer and landed one good punch. He's an overrated and slightly better version of Hal Gill. It doesn't surprise me in the least bit that this guy "Czech" his way into coward city.

The Downie box score is totally wrong as usual. I can't trust anything from Yahoo, ESPN or FOX as it pertains to the NHL and hockey.

 

your kidding about being a little better than Hal Gill right? I guarantee you if he fought more he would be known as on of the toughest guys in the league. You don't want a guy who plays 25 to 30 minutes a game fighting
So your theory is he saw he had a cut and thouht hmmm I'll fight him, come on.
I ask you this have you seen Chara rag doll people before or do you just not care for him.

Hockeybeat - I should've noted my sarcastic dislike for Chara. I'm just not a fan of him considering his playoff meltdowns in Ottawa. I've seen him go at it with some good fighters but when the going gets tough or moment calls for his presence, he's found nowhere near the action.

 

I would think that what happened last night called for his presence.

Laraque has been hurt so he hasn't been in the lineup, and when he is in the lineup, he can't fight if everyone is afraid of him, what do you expect of they guy, the only guys who are willing to fight him are the heavyweights ...

 

I saw it first last night, but I love the new commercials that are airing on the NHL Network.

What's this NHL Network of which you speak?

It's been three weeks since they've signed the deal with DirecTV and I still haven't seen when or where it's going to be.

 

I got it added to my digital sports package. It's on the same tier as NBA TV, Fox College Sports and the Tennis Channel.

 

I'm a Dish Network subscriber and it is offering NHL Network. Unfortunately Dish is only offering it to HD customers and I've got a SD TV.
