If it isn't Detroit, then it doesn't exist.

The Rock is no different for the Devils:

From AP notes on last night's Devils-Lightning story:

After drawing 17,625 for their debut in the Prudential Center on Saturday, the crowd for Game 2 was 13,218.

Devs only sellout when the Rangers cross the river.

I don't know if any city can claim itself as Hockeytown right now. And that's mainly because of Bettman and the NHL not knowing how to market itself, especially coming out of a lockout.

I mean, when one team comes in EIGHT times a year, it makes it hard to sell some of those games out.

Not only that, but when some cities don't get to see the few big name stars that everyone knows like Crosby, Ovechkin, etc., that also is hard to sell.

TSN showed a shot of a building across the street from the arena and it looked rundown. Could it be that some people don't want to venture to downtown Newark at night?

I'll be there for two games in early February.

Wasn't sure if any of you were aware but Yahoo! offers live, streaming NHL games for free.

Heard this on MSG broadcast of Caps-Rangers and cringed:

Earlier this season, the Caps Chris Clark was hit in the ear by an Alex Ovechkin slapshot. Ovie's slapper ripped off the top of Clark's ear, causing him to need between 60 and 80 stitches.

And if that's not enough, the following will cause Devils fans and Rangers haters to cringe: Stephane Matteau is at the Garden tonight and just received an ovation from the crowd, remembering No. 32's clutch goals in the 1994 Cup year.
