Every time I heard the story, the venue was different. Never passed the smell test.

A bar. Someone's cottage in Muskoka, blah, blah

I saw Lindros play for the Oshawa Generals in the immortal Oshawa Civic Auditorium in their Memorial Cup year. A man playing with boys. He might be the most dominant junior player I've ever seen live.

    Preds staying in Nashville ...

    http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=222352&hubname=

The Hockey News is reporting that the city of Nashville has reached an agreement to rework the Predators lease of the Sommet Centre with the local ownership group that will keep the team in Nashville for at least three years.

THN.com is reporting that a prospective ownership group, led by local businessman David Freeman has an agreement in place to purchase the franchise from Predators' current owner Craig Leipold for about $193 million. Sources tell THN.com that Freeman has reached a deal with the city to rework the team's arena lease that will guarantee the Predators remain in Nashville until at least through the 2010-11 season.

Oh and this is a lovely story ...

    http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=222354&hubname=

WCAX-TV in Vermont is reporting that former Philadelphia Flyers star John LeClair has been charged with drunk driving and is due in court on November 13th.

The former member of the Philadelphia's "Legion of Doom" line was pulled over early on the morning of October 24th. This is LeClair's second drunk driving charge. LeClair had pleaded no contest to reduced charges of careless and negligent driving.

LeClair was placed on waivers last December by the Pittsburgh Penguins and has not played in the NHL since. LeClair scored 406 goals in 967 career NHL games.

A style question for the hockey fans: "original six," "original 6," "Original Six," or "Original 6"?

I think it's the Original Six

FWIW, the Pens-Flyers game from the link can be opened with just Windows Media Player. You don't need sopcast for it.

What's up with that site. I'm off, at home and have Center Ice, so I don't need it. But with the NHL charging for online Center Ice, how does this site get away with this?
