I completely agree, JR. Hopefully in three years, the rank amateurs that work for the league give serious consideration to moving the Preds to Hamilton or Winnipeg or Quebec City.

But, at least for one day, Little Lord Fauntleroy Bettman can dance his happy dance and say that his Southeast expansion pipe dream is still alive.

I'm watching the NHL Network this fine morning and Lightning-Panthers highlights come on. The anchor precedes the highlight package by saying, "It's the first week of November and (these two teams) have already played four times."

    Are you kidding me?

I have no problem with the NHL wanting to emphasize the importance of rivalries, that's ridiculous. Schedule divisional games closer to the end of the season, when the games will be more important.

  4. Why is Winnipeg a better risk than staying in Nashville?

Rangers leading the Pens 2-1 at the start of the second. Gomez with two points (goal and an assist).

    Avery makes it 3-1.

I have nothing to base this on F_B, other than my rapidly shrinking gut. But I believe that in Winnipeg there are local businesses and local government along with a built-in fan base that's just dying to support a NHL team again.

Pens in the process of playing positively horrible games back-to-back.

Rangers have outshot the Pens 32-13 through two periods.

The TSN studio crew is talking like the Sens might move Emery since Gerber has been playing well and Emery isn't the easiest guy to deal with.

    Interesting.

Did the TSN crew suggest any front-runners in the Emery sweepstakes?

No, but they suggested they'd be looking for a forward in return. Emery apparently didn't look that good tonight against the lowly Caps.
