That's whathappens when you are just playing your fourth game (one pre-season, I believe) in four months and coming off surgery.

More beloved than Wendy, Gilmour, or even King clancy (I'm sure you remember his playing days)?

Just thought I'd check in briefly to say I miss hockey so much now that I am in the middle of Morocco!

Lightning have also played the Panthers four times, and once they place Atlanta again next week, that'll be meeting No.4 with them as well.

Meanwhile, the Bolts are now getting rewarded for their play. They seemed to turn a corner against the Islanders last week, but up until the last two games against Florida and Carolina, they haven't been rewarded with points.

It's helped that Holmqvist has stood on his head the last two nights as well.

The trouble with Winnipeg is basically the facility. The old building had a lot to do with the Jets' problems because it didn't have much capacity for luxury boxes and things of that ilk to promote corporate involvement (and it might also be argued the corporate community is smaller than some).

So, about five years ago, they built the MTS Centre. Nice building, but built entirely on AHL specs for seating and amenities. I don't think it can be converted to the NHL standard, and I'm not sure the broader community wants to build another brand-new rink after that.

You wonder if the Canadian dollar had been better a few years back, whether they would have built the bigger venue even with the Moose playing in front of empty seats just so they were in the running. I think they figured AHL was the best they'd ever do at that time, and embraced it.

JR, I've thought about it. I'm actually sitting in south Morocco now with a guy from Buffalo and we've hashed out the Lindros thing already.

Prior to coming, I contacted Right to Play and they don't do anything in northern Africa, just sub-Saharan.

I will have to do something sport-wise, but it looks like it will have to be cheaper than hockey - probably basketball.

In the meantime, I long for the time I get my own place with Internet so I can listen to the games.

Does your buddy have his Maxim Afinogenov sweater on? :)

Speaking of hockey in the strangest places, read Dave Bidini's brilliant "The Tropic of Hockey".

Hockey in a shopping mall in Saudi Arabia of all places.

    Have fun!
