Flames played like crap for 55 minutes ... so how bad does that make Minnesota?

Leafs lost in OT to the Habs last night thanks to an egregious giveway by McCabe 35 seconds in.

It's not often you see 3 on 3 hockey but man, there's a lot of room.

Marty York is reporting that Dion Phaneuf and Alex Ovechkin have rejected contract extension offers from their respective teams ...

    • Two young NHL stars, defenceman Dion Phaneuf and forward Alexander Ovechkin, have rejected contract-extension proposals from the Calgary Flames and Washington Capitals, respectively.

The Caps offered Ovechkin a five-year pact similar to the deal the Pittsburgh Penguins gave Sidney Crosby ($8.7 million a season), but the sniper is demanding more — between $9- and $10-million a year.

Hey, we got to watch beer-league hockey at the 'Dome last night.

    Whatever happened to Justin Pogge?

Marlies are doing fine. I have no idea about Pogge. I'm busy enough following the Laffs and my Bramptom team.

  9. I have yet to see Ottawa.
    Are they really this good?

Early in the season, the Sens have probably had the best line in hockey with Heatly, Spezza and Alfredsson. Even with Spezza out for the last six games, they still are playing well. And now Spezza is expected to be back this week (although there's a question about whether he'll be back on that line.) And Gerber has been consistent in goal. The Sens are fun to watch as well.

    In a word, yes.

As a fan of the Team That the Ontario Teachers Pension Fund Owns, I have to admit the Sens are as advertised. Fast, fast, fast.

Their fans, however, are as annoying as hell--but then they live in Ottawa so what do you expect?

And the line of Spezza, Alfreddson and Heatly may be the best in hockey.

I don't think anyone in the East can beat them.
