OK, what in the world am I missing out on here? Someone's going to have to explain this one to me:

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — The Anaheim Ducks placed backup goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov on waivers Friday and recalled Jonas Hiller from the Portland Pirates of the AHL.

Financial issues? Rumor has it that Scott Niedermayer has been skating and if he decides he wants to play, the Ducks might have to figure out a way to fit his salary under the cap.

Jesus, Shero. Could you not offer them a bag of pucks? Or do you like Danny Sabourin *that* much?

If Tampa can clear some cap room, Brzzy would be a good fit.

According to the Pens fanboys, the waiver order is by point percentage, and it's:

    WAS .72; BUF .76, EDM .78, PHO .82, FLA .85, NJD/ATL .88, PIT .89, STL 1.06

I would think that Phoenix would have the best shot of landing Brizzy, since Washington, Buffalo and Edmonton all have number one goalies.

Maybe as a backup, but Holmqvist is still only in his second full season, and has been playing fantastically well recently.

Holmqvist only signed a one-year deal in the offseason, but I think since he's under-30, they may be more inclined to try and ship Denis and bring up Ramo from the minors right now. If he keeps playing the way he has even when they were losing, he'll get a three-year deal at least.

In the meantime, Lecavalier scores another three points tonight, first since Mario in 2002 to have a seven-game multi point streak.

Five in a row for the Bolts, and Atlanta shuts out the Canes.
