Bryzgalov started for Phoenix this afternoon and shut out L.A., 1-0. Doan scored the only goal.

Read somewhere (and take it FWIW):

    An NHL insider told me:

Burke and the Coyotes have a deal in place, where they get Bryz now via the waiver wire, and should a situation arise at the trade deadline, the Ducks and Coyotes will make a trade that seems somewhat one sided, towards Anaheim.

This is a rumour circulating amongst the NHL insiders/writers, etc.

    /just something I read somewhere. That's all.

    What would Anaheim get?

If that's the case, the league and the PA need to investigate both teams for collusion. That is absolute bullshit.

End of one in Pittsburgh. Pens 2, Rangers 0. Crosby had an absolutely dominant period, with a goal and an assist.

Roszival with two goals in the second period to tie the game, and they are going on the PP.

Interesting note from the NHLPA's new ombudsman, Eric Lindros, on HNIC. He has talked to a number of teams, and all said that the instigator rule has to be eliminated.

I happen to agree with the players. There are too many gutless pukes like Jarko Ruttu--and I know he just scrapped with Brandon Dubinsky, Pens fans--and Matt Cooke and others who run around, take cheap shots and never have to drop the gloves.

That's not right. A gutless puke like Steve Downie should have had to fight McGrattan and then Neil following the McAmmond hit. Instead, he skates to the box and anonymous fourth liners are trading punches. Where's the accountability?

Dan Girardi with a PPG. Rangers 3, Penguins 2, in the second.

Leafs are leading Ottawa, 3-0, with two minutes and change remaining in the third.

Blackhawks beat Detroit 5-3 in a game in which they were out-shot 42-17. Patrick Sharp with the hat trick, and three of the Hawks' goals were short-handed. Wings with six losses, four to the Hawks. :)

I love, love, love watching the 'Hawks. I think they're the Pens of the West. When they finally learn what they're doing, they're going to be something special.

Oh baby. If you can, watch the highlights of the third period of Boston-Montreal. Original Six hockey. Old Time Hockey. A rivalry renewed and the bad blood is brewing.

Habs assistant coach Kirk Muller had to be restrained from jumping over the bench and fighting Boston head coach Claude Julien. Absolutely hysterical footage.

Devils beat the Flyers tonight. The big news is that Marty Brodeur finally notched his 500th career win. He's now only 52 wins from passing Patrick Roy as the winningest goaltender in NHL history.

Whalercanes regain touch on the man advantage, take out Florida.

It was embarrassing watching Carolina not muster a goal against Atlanta on Friday. The Thrashers couldn't hold out a pee-wee hockey team off the scoreboard.

Malkin kicks the puck to Petr Sykora, who fires the disc off of Colton Orr and past Henrik Lundqvist. Rangers and Pens are tied at three.
