Belated congrats to Martin Brodeur on his 500th win. I'll take getting it against the Flyers, but wish it would have come against the Rangers.

The Isles and Rangers have spent more time taking shots at each other than taking shots at net. 0-0, end of first.

Larry Robinson is having his No. 19 raised to the Bell Centre's rafters.

It would be more fitting if his number was retired before The Forum closed its doors.

Lacavalier with a goal and an assist, Bolts lead Atlanta 3-1.

Eight straight multiple-point games for him.

UPDATE: And the Lightning blow it, lose 4-3 in overtime. Bad penalties down the stretch and in OT.

What was extremely odd about this was that Lou Lamoriello was hosting the ceremony? WTF? Lou the Devil is doing that when Bob Gainey, Robinson's old teammate and Habs GM is there?

    Odd, odd, odd.

When I watch a game, it seems that some of the Europeans hold onto the puck and look to pass instead of shooting it.

And to reply to my own thread/aka talking to myself: Leafs lose 4-2 and Rask is the first star.

Leafs blow a 2-0 lead with a minute to go in the second.

    David Shoalts sums it up.

"It was fun to play, to show them that I'm good enough to play at this level," Rask said, although he allowed his feelings are not as strong as the average player who gets traded. When the news came, on June 24, 2006, it was in the middle of the annual Finnish celebration of the summer solstice, when the sun and the citizens stay out most of the night.

"It was 2 a.m., so you can imagine how I felt when they called me," Rask said. "No feelings at all. The next day I was kind of surprised and realized what happened.

"I didn't play any games with them or practice with them at all, so it wasn't that big a deal."

Well, it was a big deal for Fergie.
