Flash, without Roy, there is absolutely no way Montreal wins those two Cups. They were good teams but they weren't the Habs of the Dryden era.

There were only two years in his career where Roy's SV% dropped below .900 and his career % is .920 with a career GAA of 2.18.

And Brodeur was blessed with the most defensive minded team of the last 15 years--with guys like Niedermayer & Stevens playing in front of him.

If I'm picking a goalie, I'll take St. Patrick every time. But that's just me.

Fair 'nuf, JR ... I look back at last year when Brodeur had nobody and was still at 2.18 on GAA and 92 on SV%.

94-95, similar situation, Roy had a largely ineffective defence -- and team as a whole -- in front of him and posted a 2.97 GAA and 90.6 SV%.

I know (from what I've heard, anyway) that Roy could be a huge prick but he singlehandedly revolutionized the position, thanks in no small part to the God of Goalie Coaches, Francois Allaire.

Brodeur's almost a throwback kinda goalie from the pre butterfly era.

    Brodeur?

You should meet Donna, one of the bartenders at the Goose. She's madly in love with Brodeur.

But she's also hot for Darcy Tucker who too often reminds me of Jack Nicholson in "The Shining".

JR, Donna at least has good taste in one of the two men....
    Brodeur, hot? You kidding me?

I'd sooner punch Tucker than have another conversation with him.

Small clarification there, Bourque played for the Avs at the end of the 1999-2000 season and then had a full season in 2000-01 for the Avs when they won the Cup.

You are right Claws...it must be all the toosie rolls I am snacking on.
    Thanks for that.

Being a Devils fan and having to watch the Bourque lovefest when he won the Cup, that was the one thing that didn't irk me. At least he had to play a full season with the Avs to win it instead of being said rent-a-player.

I'd better warn Tucker to not approach Flash for a conversation. He will be welcome with a black eye.
I honestly think Flash could take him down in a heartbeat.

It would have been almost tragic for Bourque to never win the Cup.
