It doesn't matter, not unless MLSE changes the way it does business.

After reading the story, it's pretty clear that JFJ leaked info to a trusted writer. He knows he's soon to be fired, so why not get his side of the story out.

David Shoalts has a pretty damning indictment of the idiocy at MLSE and is telling the Teacher's Fund, who own 58%, to stand the fuck up.

If MLSE is really serious about building a champion out of this mess, then those meetings will be a good time for the majority owners of the team to finally assert themselves. For too long, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, with 58 per cent of the MLSE pie, has been content to stand back and let the inmates run the place.

But Rome is burning, and Peddie and Tanenbaum are pulling in different directions on each end of the fire hose.

Which brings us back to the way Ferguson is being treated.

Scott Bowman made it clear on The Fan 590 radio station in November and again last Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada that the driving force against Ferguson was Tanenbaum. It was Tanenbaum, Bowman said, who interviewed him first. It also appears Tanenbaum went off on his own to interview Nashville Predators GM David Poile, and one of his buddies did the same with former Philadelphia Flyers boss Bob Clarke.

Peddie only entered the fray, it seems, in order to thwart the hiring of someone over Ferguson, who was his choice as GM back in 2003, or to try to reach a compromise by downgrading the job to an adviser.

What is interesting here is that you have the fellow with the smallest share of the club trying to grab the wheel of the bus. Tanenbaum may have the right of first refusal on any MLSE shares that come up for sale, but at 13 per cent, his share of the company ranks last behind TD Capital (14 per cent), Globe and Mail owner CTVglobemedia's 15 per cent and the Teachers.

It's the best fucking show in town. Almost as good as Isiah Thomas.

As I said to someone at work today, the political machinations at MLSE make the old Soviet Kremlin look like fuckin' amateur hour.

I feel sorry for Ferguson. No one--well, maybe Bobby Clarke--deserves to be treated that shabbily.

There's a great reality show in MLSE, Isiah Thomas and Bobby Clarke.

Blackhawks punking the Blues 6-1 with a buck and change left to play. And the race for second in the Norris Central heats up a bit. Not that anyone but fanbois of the teams involved care, but still. It'd be interesting to see the Hawks get the eight-spot come playoff time. I don't think the Wings would like that.

Good news: Rangers beat the Sabres 2-1 tonight at MSG.

The not-so-breaking news: Captain Jagr proved, once again, what a dog he is.

Try not skating hard through the neutral zone on the forecheck and backcheck. Surprisingly, though, he had lots of jump in the offensive zone.

Has it ever been proven that Jagr has the ability to skate backwards?

He didn't even try to bust it back to break up a two-on-one. He just slumped his shoulders and took his time getting into the zone, getting a wonderful view of Jason Pominville's goal.
