Only way that deal makes sense is if the Leafs turn around and peddle Ohlund and some others (Blake? Tucker? Kaberle? Maybe McCabe?) for young players and draft picks.

When did they move Jovo? Shows how much I've been paying attention ...

He's been in Phoenix for a couple years now.

Signed in Phoenix as a FA before the 06/07 season.
I always liked Jovo, played with a ton of heart. High risk, high reward type defenceman

Yeah, I remember him being popular. I just don't pay much attention to the Canucks, now that they're not being shoved down my throat 24/7.

    TRADE:

The Carolina Hurricanes have made a deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Hurricanes have sent veteran forward Craig Adams to the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 30-year old Adams has two goals and three assists in 40 games with the Hurricanes this season.

Always liked Jovocop but it's hard to believe that he was a first overall draft pick

Adams hadn't been doing much, anyway. Chicago now has two former Canes named Adams: Craig and Kevyn.

Mirtle blogs about the Southeast Division. Right now Atlanta sits in third and Boston, with the same number of points is in 9th.

Based on the project points total, if the teams were seeded in the Conference instead of division winners getting an automatic playoff berth, Atlanta would end up in 10 place at the end of the season.

It's definitely the SouthLeast Division this season. Nobody in the division deserves to make the playoffs at this point. Carolina did for the first two months, but not the way it's playing now.

    Now, here's a promotion:

The Oklahoma City Blazers and American Farmers and Ranchers are going to give away the farm Friday evening following the Blazers game against Laredo.

In conjunction with the Future Farmers of America, the Blazers have teamed with the American Farmers and Ranchers to give away nearly $4,000 worth of livestock following the game.

Student members of FFA from around the state who attend the game and register at the American Farmers and Ranchers booth at the Ford Center are eligible to win a pig, a goat, a lamb and an Express Ranches heifer.

I'm not even sure what league this is.

Ah, the Central Hockey League ... along with the Topeka Scarecrows.
