I second that. or am I third in line now ... Any ways, one of the few reasons for those of us west of Ontario to tune into the early half of the broadcast.

good to be back. Glad to see the place hasn't changed too much. BTW are we shooting for a record on length on this thread? I think last year we would've been on Hockey page four by now. or are we waiting for the All-star break? not that it matters one way or the other.

OH, not that I'm often one who likes to say I told you so, but I called all this shit with Sundin way back in the off-season. Only thing now is his stock has gone through the roof. Didn't expect him to have the year he is having.
Also, if I'm JFJ, I tell MLSE to take the job and shove it. From an observer on the far outside, he is being treated like shit. What's he have to lose? half a year on a contract? save yourself the dignity. It's commendable that he wants to troop on through this, but he would have a fan for life if he decided to stick it to Peddie and the boys.

Nice. Loved the piece on the Aud, the first place I ever attended a live NHL game. (Question on that, Elliotte: did you order an air quality test before going inside? Empire did a story in there five or six years ago, and there were serious mold/asbestos concerns even then.)

I think this is kind of what Neil Smith was talking about on NTF:Final the other night. GM's in the NHL rarely resign. They pretty much always get fired, because they don't want to appear as though they're quitting.

OK, maybe this has been discussed - not scrolling back through all this.
I go in for a quick shower and Caps-Panthers are 0-0. I come out and it is 3-0 Caps. Apparently only needed three shots.
Is the new coach making that much difference? I don't recall them losing much lately.

Boudreau is doing a nice job of putting the Caps on the right track.

The Caps were 6-14-1 when he took over as interim coach. Since then they're 14-7-4. Now that's still only good for 13th in the conference, since the Southeast division is terrible, but they're only five points behind the first place Hurricanes, meaning a playoff berth is still within reach for the Caps.

  8. Boudreau made the obvious move putting Backstrom on a line with Ovechkin, Semin has played better, and the offensive scheme is makes sense with some of the players on the team.

Pittsburgh is hit with the injury bug again as Colby Armstrong is out for the game with a hip/tail-bone injury. Pens can't afford another big injury with Crosby, Fleury, Roberts and Eaton out.

Green has been a revelation for the Caps on the blueline, and he has benefited from Boudreau's system.

Malkin has been flying since the puck dropped.

  10. Malkin has been nothing short of fantastic tonight. If Pittsburgh gets this kind of brilliant work from Malkin while Crosby is out, he's going to earn a ticket for the Hart Trophy.

Really fun game in Montreal; the blueprint for Lord High Gary's vision of the game.

    Malkin was sensational.

Leafs win their third in a row beating the Sabres.

Buds looked good most of the night. The more I see Toskala, the more I'm impressed with his rebound control as in, he rarely gives one up.

    Jason Blake has unbelievable speed.

Big test tomorrow: Toronto plays NJ in a 5:00 start.
