Running 2007 NHL regular season thread

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by hockeybeat, Sep 26, 2007.

  1. HB - don't get me wrong, Hall is working himself out of a regular spot in the lineup because he's not producing any offense. Therrien likes him because he's big, right-handed, can play any forward position, ok skater, and works hard on the PK. When Roberts, Crosby, Armstrong and Ruutu are back, Hall will need to produce more than he has or else he's in the press box.

I had thought that Hall could have been a twenty goal guy in the NHL, simply by screening the goaltender and deflecting pucks or shoving home rebounds. But he has no hands whatsoever.

Zajac with a tally right before the end of the second period. Devs, who have been brutal on the PP, are up 1-0 on the Leafs.

And Madden pots one in the final seconds of the period. Devs up 2-0 on what had been a pretty game Leafs team.

  5. ...can't wait to watch Steve Downie get his clocked cleaned tonight in a game of revenge for the pre-season flying leap that knocked out Dean McAmmond.

Who does the deed? Neil? McGrattan?

  7. Downie won't have the courage to fight McGratton so I'm guessing it will force Neil to lose his mind. Downie better watchout for Luke Richardson too if he's coming across the blue line with his head down.

In a perfect world--cue a chorus of angels--Downie would have to fight McGratton, Neil and Richardson. And lose all three scraps.

Madden with a tip-in. 3-0 Devs early in the third.

  9. Cote and McGratton with first fight of the game. McGratton looks like he re-injured his shoulder. So much for Downie get his teeth knocked out.

Flyers up 1-0 on goal by Braydon Coburn.

Fuck Pittsburgh! Do you know how screwed I am in the hockey pool?

  11. ...if there's one thing I just can't ever win in, it is fantasy hockey. I could never stay away from the injury bug and that's a killer if its in mid-season as all the surprise point producers have already been swiped.

    4-1 Philly; Senators look ordinary

If there's one team in the league I can't figure out, it's Philly. Sometimes they look like worldbeaters. Other times, they're maddeningly inept.
