No, he's a late birthday. His draft year is 2009.

Another guy to keep an eye on tonight, defenceman Alex Pietrangelo of Niagara. Huge, strong skater and really good offensive instincts.

    Great quote.

    Not crazy about this:

However, speculation ran rampant on the weekend when TSN's highly respected Pierre McGuire reported Tanguay had agreed to be moved.

"Highly aggravating" would be more accurate.

    "Loudmouth know-it-all" may be better.

    Ah, that explains it.

James Duthie was mocking McGuire the other night during the Pens/Caps game about his "Monster of the Year". Pierre did not look amused.

I really like Duthie, does not take himself to seriously unlike some of the other clowns

    Probably not.

It was Duthie & McGuire in between periods of the Caps/Pens game the other night.

Speaking of that game, TSN was showing the Versus broadcast.

The guys calling the game were fucking morons. Colour guy was Darren Eliot and I can't remember the PBP guy.

At one point Conklin plays the puck outside the trapezoid and I'm yelling "You idiot Conklin".

The ref must have heard me because he finallyblows the whistle and the two guys in the booth DID NOT KNOW why there was a penalty.

No, I think it was Elliot and Joe Beninati.

Joe Beninati is the Caps PBP guy. He also does some work for Versus.

Can you tell we're nearing the trade deadline? It's been a busy day at TSN ...

The NHL Trade Deadline is getting close but for clubs unwilling to part with players to pick up some added depth, there might be another possibility.

Peter Forsberg is still out there.

The Swedish superstar is recovering from ankle problems and has not made a decision on an NHL return but he is still on the radar of certain NHL teams.

CKNW radio in Vancouver spoke to Kent Forsberg, Peter's father, on Wednesday and he explained his son felt okay during a practice skate on Tuesday. When asked about a possible return to the NHL Kent Forsberg explained it depended on the foot and ankle injuries.

Most believe that Cliff Fletcher's first job as the interim general manager of the Maple Leafs will be to divest the franchise of some expensive assets. The list of possibilities includes three big names – and three big salaries.

Defenceman Bryan McCabe, 32, has three years left on a deal that has a cap hit of $5.75 million. Winger Darcy Tucker, 32, has three years left on his deal with a cap hit of $3 million. And captain Mats Sundin, 36, is in the last year of a contract with a cap hit of $5.5 million.

Will Fletcher be able to deal any of these players and get something back to help start the re-building process? It will be made tougher by the fact that all three have no-trade clauses in their contracts.

Sundin might be the easiest to move because his contract is up after this season - and he's the best player. The prospect of trading Sundin was discussed by TSN's hockey experts on the NHL on TSN Tuesday.
