You guys will like this one. Before my paper moved me to a beat that wasn't based in our city, I'd spend several hours most weeks in the office.

One day, a rather Southern-sounding guy calls into the office and tells me we shouldn't run hockey scores in our paper because "no one cares about that Canadian bullshit, and any sport with three quarters is stupid!"

To this day, I'm not sure the guy knew why I laughed, but that was a solid moment in an otherwise shitty week.

That guy sounds like a real winner.

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the Eastern Conference's eighth seed as of this evening...the New York Rangers.

Rangers beat Atlanta 2-1 in the shootout.

You know, if they'd just spend a little more, maybe they could move up to seven ... or even six.

A fairly decent game for Meszaros in the Senators' win: he was a +6 with two assists. Either that or Tampa Bay's goalies suck.

Tom Lasorda is in the Kings booth for the second period. He is quite a sight in a King sweater. What the hell he knows about hockey, I don't know.

    I think it's a little from column A and a lot from column B.

Lasorda doesn't let the fact that a goal has been scored keep him from finishing his stories. He's now done this twice during the second period when the Kings scored.

Nice time of the year to lose the house keys on the way back and have to call the landlord who's already pissed at me and whose father-in-law died on Monday.

Ducks look like a team playing in the second game of a back-to-back. Kings up 3-0 after two.

Cluttered with boxes and boxes and boxes ... one more load to go in the morning and then I'll be out of this place. New one is brighter, bigger and way more modern.
