The league would need to air those practices and meetings on PPV. It could make a mint!

You mean, Versus isn't PPV? :p

    It's barely a network.

Ok, for those with no life, this is a great database the Globe & Mail has come up with on NHL players' salaries.

You can sort by team, age, position. I suspect James Mirtle, a Globe copy editor, blogger and stats freak may have a hand in this.

    Congrats, Globe.

I'm sitting kinda far from the TV, but I think Kovalchuk just hobbled to the back after a hit from Ruutu. Looked like he might have led with a knee (hit him against the boards), but there was no penalty and I didn't get a good look at it.

OK, now I look up and play is still stopped and Ruutu went to the back.

Final post on it ... I think.

2 for instigating, 5 for fighting, and another 10 for Mccarthy.
Ruutu gets 5 for kneeing and a game misconduct.

Not sure it was that bad.

Didn't TSN have something like this a couple years ago?

    Maybe. I didn't see it, I guess.

What TSN had wasn't nearly as impressive as what the Globe And Mail has put together. TSN just had links to the teams, with player salaries.

It might be a day late, but here's my take on Emery.
A team can suit him up as an enforcer if nothing else.

Saw the highlight of the Ruttu hit on Kovalchuck. It was a little bit late and knee-to-knee. It's one of the hits that the league really needs to mandate against.
