Who says Orpik is useless scum? His skate comes in handy for Staal's second goal.

...aaand Jaro Spacek nets the first goal of the season for Buffalo.

(Miss you, Lorenzo, but can I say how fucking awesome it is to hear Jeanneret and Neale in the same booth?)

    Sabres-Isles: 3-3 after one period.

And the Whalercanes are up 3-0. Staal twice and Ladd.

Carolina's playing MUCH better than it did against the Habs. Controlling the puck better, getting it deep more and kicking the forecheck into gear.

Right, but it looks like there's going to be a game a night during the season from the way versus has it set up with yahoo.

They've got games every night through Monday lined up, and I'm guessing a bunch more after the preview goes belly up.

Oh, and the Pens can't get anything going. Wesley is playing great against BBJ.

Wesley picked Crosby's pocket in the first period.

Good stuff for Wes. Staal on track offensively this season. Hamilton with a goal and two helpers.

Nice to see Orpik continue to "impress." Apparently the Whalercanes worked on what it didn't do against Montreal.

4-4 in Buffalo, Vanek on a breakaway.

    First one to 10 wins?
