JC, apology accepted. Goodness knows the way people have gone at it on this board, this shouldn't - and won't - develop into a grand conflict.

I was among the first to let Jim Rutherford to hold it for the Stillman-Commodore for Corvo-Eaves deal. Still haven't come up with the grit to replace Commodore, but as time passes it seems more and more obvious that Corvo and Ottawa needed to part ways. It just wasn't going to work, but at the time of the deal, Corvo looked like an overpaid stiff. I don't think Stillman and Commodore have done anything wrong in Ottawa, but this deal has worked out for the Whalercanes.

I've been wrong many times before, JC, and obviously this can be added to my list of mistakes. Glad to be wrong, though.

Good God. Colorado just forced a white flag out of Luongo and the Canucki Orcas. Four unanswered goals in the second period (which isn't done yet) for a 5-2 lead in Denver.

I think they were talking either late in the game, or on On The Fly afterwards, that Luongo's impending parenthood may affect his mind subconsciously, making him lose focus until his kid arrives.

Don't know how feasible it is, but in a way it does make sense.

As long as they crap the bed the rest of the way I'm happy. Mind you the Oil can't afford to lose any more games like they did tonight to the Wild.

There aren't many Rangers who will take the beating required to screen the goalie.
They need to stick Hollweg or Orr in front when Avery's not on the ice because they're the two other Rangers who don't mind mixing it up.

The Rangers don't forecheck game in, game out. They appear to kick back a majority of the time; they just don't seem to want to pay the price every night.
Their lack of consistency is about the only thing that is a constant with them.
If they think they're going to be able to turn it on and off come playoff time -- if they even make it, they'll be going home quickly.

Nah, the OIlers need to keep on losing. ;D

Huge win for the Avs last night, especially with two dates left against Minnesota and one more against the CanuckiOrcas (Tuesday, which could decide the 7-8 spots if the Lanche struggle against the Wild). Vancouver has one more game left than Colorado, but the extra game is against Calgary.

Looks like a bunch of the interesting Northwest Division games will be on TV, too.

In news the Caps won't be pleased with, Bruins score first against Leafs.

Brendan Shanahan scores the Rangers first power play goal since the Ching Johnson era. Rangers lead the Devs 1-0 in the second period.

Lotta big games in the East tonight. Caps, who I still don't think are getting in, need to gain ground on the Bruins.

Well, the Leafs have tied it, and from what I've seen on Yahoo, appear to be taking the game to the Bruins a little. Now all the Caps need is a couple of goals against the Bolts.

According to MSG, the Leafs tied the game. Caps are only two points behind Boston for the eight seed. I don't think that Bruins have enough offense to hold off the Caps.

B's do have a game in hand. That's getting bigger and bigger as the season gets shorter and shorter.
