There is no way that the Caps lose in regulation to the Panthers tonight in this situation.[\canesfanboylooserhopingtojinxwashington]

  2. Ovechkin has the playoff berth on his stick, if he's going to win the Hart Trophy, I think he needs to lead the way tonight. Two things working in Washington's favor;

    1. Florida should be tired after playing last night
    2. NHL, NBC, and Versus want Washington in the playoffs so watch for the refs to give them all the chances.

Could be some great playoff matchups in the first round if everything holds

    Eastern Conference
    #1 PIT vs #8 PHI
    #2 MTL vs #7 OTT
    #3 WSH vs #6 BOS
    #4 NJD vs #5 NYR

    Western Conference
    #1 DET vs #8 NSH
    #2 SAN vs #7 CLG
    #3 MIN vs #6 COL
    #4 ANH vs #5 DAL

  5. JC - as a Pittsburgh fan, I can't help but say that. If Devorski is officiating, then Carolina can forget it.

I can't fathom any way that Ovechkin doesn't win the MVP, playoff berth or not.

Maurice runs out of excuses and basically said his team played like shit against Ottawa.

Then he takes some swipes at Ottawa after the Bell hit on Alfredssson.

"I think a team as physically strong as Ottawa's would have exacted some physical revenge on [Bell]," Maurice said. "After the hit there were a couple of purse-swingings that didn't amount to much.

"No offence, ladies," the coach said to a couple of female reporters in the scrum.

I don't know whether he's the best coach since Pat Burns but he sure as hell has been the most fun.

Oh please, do you really believe that?
Why not just give credit to a team that has gone on an amazing run. These consiracy theories are complete bullshit.
If Carolina doesn't make it they have only thereselves to blame, like every other team in the league that missed the playoffs.

    hill,

Carolina had 10 powerplays last night, Florida zero. There is no conspiracy.

It's the same bullshit I hear out here about how the Canucks got screwed in game seven against the Rangers in 94. The Rangers did benefit from a few calls by Terry Gregson but do I think this was an edict from the league? Not a bloody chance, Rangers were at home which is the more likely explanation.
Sometimes there are shitty calls plain and simple!

Ask Leafs fans about Kerry Fraser, Wayne Gretzky, Doug Gilmour and a certain Game Seven.

So I'll ask you. Bad call or conspiracy?
