Um, isn't there still five minutes left to go in the Caps game?

I absolutely loved Ovechkin leaping onto Semin and beginning a dogpile following the 3-1 goal.

So, now that the Caps are four minutes from the playoffs, can we please stop the talk about Ovechkin not being the MVP?

  6. HB - no way. Ovechkin plays in the worst division in hockey, his team barely made it into the playoffs and I'm not forgetting the early season crap he and some of his teammates pulled on Hanlon. Is he a great player, no doubt but I'm not about to have him as the MVP with the way Iginla, Malkin, and Thornton performed this season.

Now that I finished my Pittsburgh fanboy rant...

Ok...... yes, Ovechkin can win the Hart.

And the 2008 Southeast Division Champions are the Washington Capitals.

Moddy, Headbutt, congratulations. Your lads are going to go a ways in the playoffs.

Sam Mills, OnDeadline, I am sorry that your Whalercanes didn't make the playoffs.

He's the very best player in the league. He plays defense, he hits, he'll fight, and he's just incredible offensively. Crap they pulled on Hanlon? You mean try and play a defensive style that didn't take advantage of their talents? Play a chickenshit style of hockey?

I wanna play the Pens so bad this year.

Congrats to the Caps. They certainly deserved the division title more than the Canes the way they played in the last couple of weeks. I'd love to see the Caps make a good run now that my team is out of it.

Unless Malkin goes batshit tomorrow, Ovechkin is going to win the Art Ross Trophy as the league's leading scorer. He has the Rocket Richard locked up. If Ovechkin is gypped out of the Hart by the writer--and I can't see any way that happens--he'll win the Pearson (MVP as voted on by the players).

I think he's the best individual show in sports. He's like a Pied Piper. He always seems to have a smile on his face and he plays so hard every shift, every game.

I'll be in D.C. next weekend. Wonder what the playoff sked looks like? Guess it depends on opponent and arena availability?
Boudreau has to be coach of the year, doesn't he? The Ovechkin argument is just plain silly. That one is done.

Very impressed with what the Caps have done. I'll even give you Ovie as MVP, which for a pensfanboylooser is tough to do.

But before you go wanting to play the Pens, isn't Pittsburgh something like 10-1 in its last 11 vs. Washington?
