I suspect so. If this had been a year or two ago in Philly - given Bobby Clarke's love of tough guys - I think he's welcomed back. But now that he's not in charge, combined with the black eyes the league is tired of dealing with - Simon, Bertuzzi, McSorley, etc. - I'll guess it's over for him.

Boulerice should be suspended for 25 games. It was an absolutely gutless, despicable act.

Worse, the Flyers were already drilling Vancouver. The point was ... ?

No point as far as I could see. You'd expect the reverse to happen, someone from Vancouver taking a run at a Flyer.

Yes. For almost killing Andrew Long of the Guelph Storm with a home run swing to the nose in the 1999 playoffs. SI did a good story on the incident and aftermath back in 99 or so, titled "Less THan Murder".

Was he channeling Gary Suter on Paul Kariya? That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. What did Suter get for that? 10 or 15?

And Kariya had to sit out the Nagano Olympics. Not that he would have changed that glorious fourth-place finish ...

The Canes are looking strong against the unbeaten Sens, up 3-1 midway through the second. Ward is really impressive, stays upright and stays squared to the shooters.

Whalercanes hang on and hand the Sens their first loss of the season.
Erik Cole with a pair of goals ... Chad LaRose with three assists? Holy wildwinds ...

LaRose was very strong with the puck tonight. The last few minutes were a little hairy, but then Stillman makes the nice pass off the board for Staal to get the empty-netter to put it away.

Nice to see Cole break through with two goals as well.

Wow! The Leafs whip the Isles 8-1 with eight goal scorers. That's spreading it around.
