Things have gone from bad to worse for the Leafs.

Is it premature to see the team to wave the white flag yet?

And a bad few days for Mr. McCabe. Last week against Carolina, he's carrying the puck behind the goal and he trips on the back of the goal. Last night, he puts the game-winning goal into his own net. I'm guessing that this isn't going to stop the boos.

On another subject: How about the struggles early from goalies Marty Brodeur and Roberto Luongo? Both have save percentages below .900 and GAAs in the threes. Luongo has given up four goals twice and Brodeur has given up four goals once.

Marty has been known to have a few bad games and then come back and get locked in and stop everything in sight. I'm assuming that's what's going to happen, but he's not young. I'm wondering if his skills are eroding somewhat. I'm sure the state of the Devil's blue line doesn't help.

As for Luongo, who knows? He looked terrific for the first 30 minutes of the game last night and then just couldn't get it done. I think he'll come around.

Bad few days just for McCabe? ondeadline, I think it's been a bad few days for the Leafs team on a whole.

    Some bad karma coming there...

I wonder if they think their season so far is a bad dream that they never woke up from...

Damien Cox thinks (and I agree) that the Leafs should try and ship McCabe out of town; otherwise, he might end up being the next Larry Murphy:

Maybe the ACC boo-birds will take sensitivity training and back off, or perhaps McCabe will again start playing with confidence and win back popular support.

But there's blood in the water, and McCabe looks like one rattled hockey player right now. If his troubles continue, does GM John Ferguson, like Fletcher did 10 years ago, fix the issue by shipping McCabe elsewhere?

JFJ would need the defenceman's permission, of course. But as this lurches into Larry Murphy territory, such permission may not be hard to get.

Jesus, it's only SEVEN games. Are you sure you're not from Toronto? :)

Buddy, you know the answer to that one.... ;) ;D

Come on, the Toronto media are going to start pouncing on the Leafs. We know it.

Wonder if Ferguson is worrying...I think he should be looking for another job.

Serious question: Could Maurice be fired in a couple of weeks if the Leafs don't get going? I hope not, but I know a lot of people up there already are PO'd by this start.

I don't think Maurice will get the boot, but Ferguson ain't sitting pretty right now.

Every Bob from Scarborough knew his $6 million a year, five year, no trade, no movement contract was a joke.

McCabe should have been out of T.O. last season. Why he's still there is beyond me.

Here's a headline that will make a few cringe:
