They're already a lynch mob. It was fairly obvious that the Leafs aren't going to win The Cup this year. But if you're JFJ, who do you trade and where for what?

I could see McCabe going to Pittsburgh for Angelo Esposito and a draft pick. Sundin to San Jose for Logan Couture, Steve Bernier and a pick. Tucker to Vancouver for two picks and Curtis Sanford. Blake to the Kings for Brian Boyle and Patrick O'Sullivan.

The Leafs would be able to start to get under the cap and get younger

While I wouldn't expect a Richard Riot-style attack on the ACC, I don't think fans are near lynch mentality yet. Yes, they're pissed but expectations don't run that for a team that's been underachieving for 40 years. They can take a few more punches yet.

McCabe won't be traded ... just based on his salary alone. Doubtful they'll move Sundin. Tucker, yeah. But something about Ferguson tells me the names are safe in blue.

The goalies? Now that's another issue altogether.
