Running 2008 NHL Playoffs Thread

There's an eerie quiet around these parts this afternoon.

The Flyers nuts are grim. And angry. And feeling cheated (even if they're not; they're Philly fans, that's what they do).

Somebody's gonna hurt someone before the night is through.

 

Somebody's gonna come undone. There's nothing you can do.

 

Except watch. Too bad I'll be at the ball diamond. Someone provide a play-by-play of the fireworks.

 

Wish I knew the next line, but had to let you know somebody noticed ....

I'm so glad I only know one Flyers fan and he would be afraid to talk trash even if Philly was winning. He is getting married this fall and the pour soul chose me as his best man. He not only has to survive the bachelor party I'm planning, but also the speech I'm giving at the reception.

 

Versus rinkside reporter and Islanders color commentator Billy Jaffe, on NHL Live this afternoon, said that the Flyers called up Ryan Parent to replace Coburn tonight.

Jaffe went on to say that Coburn's eye is still swollen shut and has a gash starting from over his left eyebrow that runs down the side of his nose.

 

And he can't play? This is the playoffs!

 

Jordan Staal will be playing tonight after attending the funeral of his grandfather earlier today.

Brother Eric took a leave of absence from Team Canada to attend.

 

kinda hard to play defense with one eye ...

 

Gary Roberts might be out of the Pens' lineup with pneumonia.

 

It means more ice time for Jason Smith and Derian Hatcher.

 

Yeah, that's what they need ... more ice time for Hatcher.

 

What, a guy can't be sarcastic?
