Should the game go to OT (or OTs) , the league has a contingency plan vis a vis the broadcast.

What a game Turco's playing ... far and away the best he's ever played in Detroit.

Looks like the Stars stave off elimination again, live another day. Not a good thing for Detroit. Fantastic game for Turco.

And we're going to game six.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the Red Wings first loss at the Joe during this playoff run.

    Yes it was.

And as I told you on the phone, HB.

    NOT ... DEAD ... YET!

They win Game 6 and Stars fans might start chanting 1942 at the Wings.

Bad juju: The thread being on page 68 for Pens-Flyers Game 4.
Good juju: The thread being on page 71 for Pens-Flyers Game 5.

Yes, I see some post-padding in my future.

In all seriousness, though, Pittsburgh really needs to finish this thing off today. Because Game 6 in Philadephia wouldn't exactly be a picnic.

  7. Mustard - Penguins want nothing to do with a game six in Philadelphia and getting a few extra days rest after today with Dallas/Detroit going to six in Dallas would be much needed due to the flu and other ailments affecting Pittsburgh.

It should be interesting to see how Malkin, Sykora and Malone perform in today's game after Therrien basically called them out for no-showing since game one. It should be noted, Crosby's game four actions were less than stellar after he pulled up and away from the Flyers net on numerous shifts throughout the game.

I had far less issues with that than Malkin abandoning one-man rushes and passing when he could have taken a good shot on goal. He's being too unselfish.

Reports pretty much everywhere that Timmonen is back for today's game, while Coburn will sit.

And as far as Malkin is concerned, I'm curious as to whether he is:

    a) sick
    b) injured
    c) tired

He didn't practice yesterday, with the team saying he was sick. I wonder, though, if he didn't get dinged when Philadelphia started running him in Game 2.

  11. OZ - That is the Malkin this team had before Crosby went down with his ankle. He deferred too often and he has to get the killer instinct back or this team is going to have a difficult time putting away the Flyers. Of course, as you see below, I can't say for sure if it is him or an injury.

Mustard - According to a team source, Malkin has sore ribs after taking a shot in game three.

So, if a team source is saying ribs, that means it's his shoulder, right. I could have sworn I saw him favoring it a couple of games back.
