Yes, and it was always so lovely when your teams would visit my teams and bring your damn cowbells.

There have been worse who have squeezed at least a few years out of a minor pro team, thanks to one good season in juniors. Kenric Exner comes to mind ...

My grandparents settled in Kitchener after the Holocaust. As a kid, I thought it was a dump, but then I realized it's a two university town. Small place for two schools.

    Lots of fun there.

Kitchener is an oasis when you're living in Stratford. Shopping! Movie theatres! If only I'd been a hockey fan then. :-\

And it's smack dab in the middle of Mennonite country. Go a half hour out of town and you're in the middle of horses, buggies and people in black---and not the hip kind either.

And the Aud is one of the great barns in junior hockey.

Mmm ... Stratford ... I was there for a couple of hours once. How I would have loved to stay for a few days and check out a performance or two.

Not better than Joel Quenneville. Colorado compounds its mistake ...

Seems like an odd hiring to me. I guess time will tell

Completely agree. He was demoted once before, so why give him another chance?

Two-year coaching record: 72-33-28. Front office brought in Selanne and Kariya for his second season; yeah, that worked out. I'm not sure why he was demoted in the first place; at the time I suspected it was more a conflict with Pierre Lacroix rather than job performance but Lacroix is still there albeit in a different capacity.

Looking at current Avs management now, though, were they blaming Quenneville for Peter Forsberg not being the Peter Forsberg of old? Granted, 70 percent of that guy is better than 90 percent of his colleagues at full tilt.

But the Avs were wrought with injuries, and Quenneville and the team got to the second round. There are a lot of good teams that would get smashed by Detroit.

Your points are valid, 2MCM, but Colorado doesn't have as many money players this time around. And, under these circumstances, promoting Granato screams that they had a problem with Quenneville. That makes no sense.
