In the U.S., NHL Network at 7 p.m.

I'm taking Belleville. Kitchener does not impress me.

Mike Murphy has stopped 102 of 108 shots that Kitchener has thrown at him in the last two games these two teams played each other.

Good story on the series and Murphy here:

    http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/juniors/2008/05/22/rangers_bulls_memorial_cup/

Burnett says Murphy has come a long way this season under the tutelage of goaltending coach Sebastien Farrese, who has put some structure into Murphy's style that was once only about athleticism and quickness.

"He was a fish out of water when he first came into the league,"

Burnett said. "He'd battle and battle, but after the second or third save he'd be out of position. Now he's there to make that next save."

Our guy Fly pretty much nailed.

Hope the guy gets a second look

    Either way ... Spokane wins.

It's supposed to rain all weekend. No better way to stay inside than watching Game 1 of the SCF and the MC Final.

Note to self: Pick up beer.

Agreed. Spokane has been standout this week, although I wonder how the layoff will affect the Chiefs.

Mirtle picks Wings in six and for one reason and one reason alone: Lidstrom

    http://mirtle.blogspot.com/2008/05/2008-stanley-cup-final-why-wings-will.html

If ever there was a boring superstar, it's him. If ever there was a series branded as exciting and packed with edge-of-your-seat action as this one, he's the man to make it predictable and refined. At 38 years old, Lidstrom remains the best player in the game, and in this series, my money's on the fact he'll dominate the 30 minutes of ice time he gets a night.

Not that it means squat but there's a poll on the Mirtle blog and 42% pick Penguins in six, including me.

Belleville won't go away. They'll win tonight and beat Spokane. They're like a little terrier, snapping at your heels.

They were first in the OHL East this year with 102 points. Brampton (bastards!) were in second place, 14 points behind.

    Murphy will steal this tournament.

    Helluva weekend for hockey.

Well, that was quick. Spent all this time talking up Belleville's goalie and he gives up a goal three minutes in.

No way Bulls are coming back from a 4-0 lead. Murphy sure shit the bed on that last goal.

Well, so much for an exciting Friday night hockey game.

Yeah. I'm keeping an eye on it but Olbermann gets more attention than planned.
