    Men against boys.

Penguins don't have a clue how to play against Detroit.

Is his press conference, Therrien called out Osgood for that late flop and the refs for not calling obstructions, which he said the Red Wings have down perfect.

Pens making Osgood look like Frankie Brimsek.

But they've got enormous $$$ to work with and figure to be back for the Cup. Even Gretzky had to go through his initiation.

The perfect way to sum up this series.

Anyone know what the longest shutout streak in the Stanley Cup final is and whether a series has gone without a single goal scored by one side?

Really couldn't put it any better there. The only thing I'm confused with is how most people thought this wouldn't be the case? The Pens have had a great year and a very impressive playoff run, and maybe if they were playing Dallas things would be different -- but I think they got here a bit faster than most (including themselves) expected.
That said, it's only 2-0 ... hard to believe things will change that much, but hey, no one in any sport has choked more than the Detroit Red Wings over the past several years.

as predictable as the sun setting in the west, typewriterhill blaming the officials.
What a Fucking joke you could have Mario Lemieux and Ray Shero reffing this series and it wouldn't be close.
It's funny if another team from Pennsylvania pulled the bullshit the Pens are pulling there would be outrage on these boards.
Try to lose with some class. This team has one hell of a future and the majority of Pens fans on this board know that and are losing with class. With one noticeable exception.

I was thinking exactly the same thing about shutouts in the Final. But I figure we'll hear about it soon enough.

To paraphrase Sam Johnson, complaining about the refs when you've had your ass handed to you on a plate is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

The Penguins were without a single shot in the first period until they got a power play.

The whole life has been sucked out of this series .

The most amazing part of the series, IMO: Pittsburgh might very well have had the two best scoring chances in the entire series last night.

    1) Crosby finds Ryan Malone all alone in front of Osgood a minute into the game.
    2) Jordan Staal finds himself with the puck in a 2-on-none all alone in front of the Detroit net.

Neither opportunity resulted in a shot on goal, much less a goal. That pretty much defines the first 120 minutes.

This has nothing to do with the playoffs but I can't bother to find the hockey thread.

    This is fabulous.

Puke knocks out two of another guy's teeth in an unprovoked attack in a men's rec league.

Goes to court and the guy gets $20,000 in damages.

Puke appeals and the judge supports the earlier decision and awards the guy another $7500 to cover legal costs.

At the time of the trial, Dunn was a 26-year-old landscaper living at home with his parents. He was 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighed 155 pounds. Leonard, 35, a billiard hall manager and father of four, was nearly 6 feet tall and weighed 285 pounds.
