Well, I'll replace idiotic with "extremely short sighted".

I don't think Mario has to be Mark Cuban but as one of the greatest players ever, Lemieux should be out flogging not just his team but the sport.

Well, it's clear that Grapes has never liked Crosby since his junior days and it's pretty fucking childish.

Crosby should be a Cherry favourite. He's a Canadian, he's tough and he has been in at least one fight. But the two got off to a bad start when Crosby was in junior hockey and was rapped by Cherry for being a hot dog because he used a lacrosse-style stick manoeuvre to score a goal. For his part, Crosby has a bit of an edge and he probably hasn't been appropriately deferential to Cherry.

I'm not with Shoalts on this one. You've got kids like Crosby, Malkin and Fleury making their first Stanley Cup finals appearance. They stood in Mario's shadow the moment they got there, so if his stepping back from the limelight allows them to eclipse that shadow even more so, then so be it.

There's nothing wrong with being unlike the Steinbrenners in the owner's box. Why must he comment on anything? Why can't he remain quiet without protest, like the Red Wings' owner, whoever that is? I don't need to read about Mario so much as I need to read about the team on the ice.

Now this I can agree with, with respect to the sport.

    Oz,
So we have 50% agreement? :)

    That's pretty good.

Great line from Rob Scuderi on the Orpik hits last game:

It was just a yard sale," Pens defenseman Rob Scuderi said. "There were guys and sticks and helmets everywhere.

    "It was great to see."

Type Orpik on Youtube, and I think you get "four hits in 15 seconds" as one of the titles.

If Crosby would have gotten the hat trick right after that display, that place would have collapsed.

That's the best-written graf I've read this entire postseason. Excellent.

I guess I just don't find it surprising any more.

Remember that Barry Melrose to the Lightning rumor that was going around?

Well it's happening. Torts is done in Tampa. Bryan Murray should be falling over himself to get on the phone with his agent to get him behind Ottawa's bench.

Ah, hell. Great for Barry, but sucks for me. I loved watching Barry breakdown hockey. Almost forgot that he coached the L.A. Kings back in the day.
