Running 2008 NHL Playoffs Thread

The NHL gets a lot of things wrong, but the no-commercials-during-overtime edict is one of the great rules in all of sports, and I mean that.

 

The only thing better than a multiple-overtime elimination game is a multiple-OT game 7.

Which is why I want the Penguins to win the game.

Another goaltender interference call on Detroit!

 

Goaltender interference hates the Red Wings.

 

Jesus, these ham and fucking eggers.

Try to avoid the keeper.

You cannot just slam into him full speed.

 

WTF are these announcers bleating on about.

The defender's stick affected the charging Red Wing not a bit.

Don't run over the fucking goalie.

 

Also, what's up with the announcer screaming about the puck being "shot off the glass" with the same rabid intensity as if it had clanged off pipe?

 

I know nothing about hockey. I know I'm watching something incredible right now.

 

These are the same announcers that were talking about the teams eating pizza between overtime periods because it has starch. Yep, pizza is the most beneficial food with starch for a hockey player in a do-or-die situation.

 

I could go for some pizza right now....
....geez, these guys must be exhausted. I know I am.

 

Multi-OT finals games like this are always incredible. One team is clinging desperately to life, the other knows it's this close to hoisting the Stanley Cup.

Fleury has been amazing tonight.

 

Pretty much the whole series the way Detroit is controlling and shooting at will.
