The ref at Kansas must have been wearing Jayhawks underwear to call that foul with .7 left.
Doesn't mean UCLA was going to win, but at least it should have had a chance in OT.

I saw that as a make-up call for not calling the push on Reed underneath his own basket on what became a turnover that led to Honeycutt's game-trying 3.

Just how I viewed it, not saying that's how officials viewed it. Tyrel Reed was basically pushed out of bounds, leading to the game-tying 3. At some point, if you're an official, you can't ignore contact simply because of the clock.

UVa and VT used to play all their matchups off-campus. UVa's home games were in Richmond and VT's were in Roanoke.

Honeycutt has looked real good. I'm impressed by his athletic ability and he's a great defender. They have some pieces there at UCLA, I could see them playing at a real high level of ball once conference play starts. Josh Smith is a load down low, he just needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble and I think that will come once he sheds some weight. Also, Reeves Nelson is a great glue guy type.

I think the Pac-10 is between Washington and UCLA this year. With WSU and Arizona competing as well. Aside from that the conference is blah, but its definitely better than last year from top to bottom.

Definitely wouldn't look past Arizona, which looked awfully efficient against KU on Saturday night in Vegas. I would be surprised if Arizona doesn't make it a three-team race.

Mizzou led by 20 at halftime, but anybody who's been a Mizzou fan for any length of time knew that they wouldn't just cruise home with the win. Oregon couldn't hit water in the first half, couldn't miss in the second. Right now the Tigers are above average, but nowhere near where they're ranked. The encouraging thing is that Anderson's teams in the last couple years have picked up steam as the season went along. So, we'll see.

I had given up on the game when Mizzou led something like 44-20, figured the game would pretty much play out like Duke-Oregon from last Saturday. Flipped back just to see what the score was and saw Oregon within 10 and watched it the rest of the way.

Had completely forgotten that Dana Altman took the Ducks job in the offseason.

Dana Altman still looks like an accountant instead of a basketball coach.

WSU looks good as well. We'll see what they're made of tonight when they take on Kansas St at home.
