Only 12 minutes into Kentucky-North Carolina on CBS and Gus Johnson is going crazy. I love it.

Rebs led by 10 at half over Southern, but Flowers gathered his 15th point on a baseliine jumper to start the 2nd.
USM down by eight now with 18 mins left at Tad Smith Coliseum ( ESPNU )

EDIT: USM now up 72-70 with under 6 left.

FINAL EDIT: Ole Miss wins 86-81 and Eustachy called the officials "mother fuckers" as the seconds ticked off.

Oh for cripes sake. Do you know how many teams have more McDonald's All Americans on their roster than UNC? Umm, ZERO. Not even Duke tops the Heels in that category.

Harrison Barnes was the number one ranked recruit in the entire nation and the projected No. 1 pick in next year's NBA draft at the start of this season, all five of UNC's starters were McDonald All Americans, they've got a couple more burger boys coming off the bench (and would have two more on top of that if the Wears hadn't transferred) and their entire roster is made up of former four or five star recruits.

There's plenty of nice excuses to explain UNC's disappointing performance in the last year (inexperience, poor chemistry, lack of a true point guard, etc.) but poor recruiting is NOT one of them.

And UCLA follows its impressive game at Kansas with a home loss to Montana.

    Oops.

Tuesday will be the first big test for Syracuse against Michigan St.

I have no confidence in this year's team, and I think they are vastly overrated by their ranking which will probably be 5-7 entering Tuesday's game. They may be the most overrated team in the top 10. Contrary to last year where it took them a while to get the respect they deserved - that team was great out of the gate.

Wasn't the first time Larry's been screwed there. Won't be the last.

If Ole Miss didn't have home crews in their pocket, they'd be 6-24, every year.

I watched a random nonconference game at Ole Miss one year, and was flat-out stunned by the dicking the visiting team took. I had no idea it was a tradition.

Just got back from maybe the ugliest game I've ever seen, but at least I know it is possible to hold a team to 27 percent from the field and still lose by double digits. Or at least it is if you are Radford.

Ilmago, at least Syracuse played a game outside new york state in the non-conference. Althougj Atlantic city isn't much of a trip.
