When I left work last night Cougs had blown a 15- or 17-point lead, up by 4 at half. Got home about halfway through the second, they're up 24 on the way to the 81-59 win. The WAZZU fanboi in me wants to think last night, combined with the strong showing against KSU last week (five point loss after briefly leading with 2:29 left), shows the Cougs will be good this year. But I have a feeling Gonzaga won't be up to par this year (or at least they weren't last night) so we'll probably have to wait until the Pac-10 season starts to know for sure.

WSU isn't a bad club this year.

As for the Irving injury that levels the playing field. Duke with Irving might have run the table.

    The Vols are underrated.

    That is all.

    They shouldn't be.
Pearl recruits well and scattered Vols are playing professionally right now.
Hopson was a star recruit and the freshman that started today is dynamic.
All of those starters are solid.
That was a fun game to watch, as is the Army/Navy affair.

Wow. The SEC is going to be even worse than I thought. And I thought it was going to be dogshit.

The Providence-Alabama announcers kept prattling about the Friars picking up a quality non-conference win today, when Bama's RPI sits in the 300s.
