Tennessee had 3 players foul out, were called for 32 fouls, were playing in Pittsburgh, and still blew the No. 3 team off the court, making the Vols the Big East champs in the club house.

Maybe now the fool who keeps voting another Vol victim, Villanova, in the top 10 while leaving the Vols completely off his ballot will change his mind.

Oakland might be the best 6-5 mid-major in a state nowhere near the one most people assume it is in the country. Three of their five losses were on the road to ranked Big Tentwelvessomethinglike that teams, and one of them, Michigan State, won by one point. Three-point loss at Wright State and blowout at West Virginia round it out. Of course, only the Tennessee win is any good, but still. @Michigan will be a decent test, and they also have @Ohio State. Then they play absolute shit the rest of the way, so they should get a 12 seed in the NCAAs.

I remember when Oakland was a perennial regional-rounds departure team in Division II.

Fuck, I'm starting to sound old...

After missing all last season and nine games of this one, Renardo Sydney finally suited up tonight for Mississippi State.
He accepted things that benefited him while AAU-ing it as a prepster, the NCAA said.

MSU has games with Wash. State and Va. Tech next week as he tries to become acclimated.
The SEC may still wind up sucking, as one poster here put it, but I'm just sayin' ...

Also, Bulldogs' point guard Dee Bost played for the first time tonight after serving suspension for improper NBA draft declaration procedure.

Gonzaga sucks this year...worst GU team I've ever seen. The teams I saw when I went there (the Adam Morrison years) would absolutely curbstomp the product that's out there now.

GU will get back to .500 later today, when it hosts Lewis-Clark State (that's right, an NAIA opponent that counts). It'll be back below .500 Saturday, when it faces Baylor in Dallas. I shudder to think how bad that game will be.

I didn't think there was any way Josh Selby was going to live up to the pre-game hype, but he may have just exceeded it.

Although it appears Kansas' home winning streak may not survive Big 12 play.

Many Big 12 teams have looked unimpressive in wins.

    Baylor beat Lipscomb by 12.
Kansas State beat Presbyterian by nine and Loyola Chicago by eight.
Missouri beat Western Illinois by five and Wyoming by 10.

The Big 12 has actually looked average against the Pac-10. Heck, USC beat Texas but lost to ... Nebraska?

Damn, what a finish to this UNC-Texas game. Two great shots in the final 15 seconds. Looks like the Heels will be on the wrong side of this one.
