I'd love to see the Cougs make the tournament, murphy ... but before they talk about running the table, they need to, oh, sweep the Oregon schools on the road this weekend. Wazzu doesn't have too many conference road wins in recent years.

We'll see if the Pac-10 can get 3 or 4 teams into the tourney. If they picked today, I don't think Washington State is in. That home loss to Arizona could really haunt them.

I'd take that guess along with you. But I'm betting that Chapel Hill - if it doesn't step on too many landmines in the ACC - will be ranked soon. Heels are on the upswing and buried Boston College in Chestnut Hill to continue their ascent.

Florida State should climb back into the polls if Leonard Hamilton can unearth any consistency with the Seminoles' offense. FSU's offense in Littlejohn last weekend was offensive.

If Brad Brownell can recruit in the ACC, Clemson will be a factor now and moreso in the next year or two.

Boeheim avoids his first-ever five-game losing streak at SU by winning at UConn.

Weird game. Cuse wins despite going the first 5:30 without a point. Keita had one of the luckiest baskets you'll ever see, fumbling an entry pass right under the basket. The ball goes straight up in the air about 10 feet above the rim, and drops straight through. Jackson makes a blind 10-foot turnaround at the buzzer to put the Orange up by one at halftime.

Kemba Walker was non-existent in the second half, except for an amazing half-court bounce pass through three defenders for a layup.

Joseph's first two shots of the game were three-point air balls from the left wing -- LONG.

Hawkeyes shot a ridiculous 57.7 percent from the field.

Not sure what happened in Bloomington. Stats are amazingly identical.

I agree, especially about that Arizona loss. As it is, sitting with 15 wins, I'm guessing they'll have to go 7-2 in the second half. Or 6-3 with a good run in the Pac-10 tourney. As you said, it starts with a sweep of the Oregon schools this weekend. Easier said than done. They have a tendency to give up big leads in the second half of a game. But when Klay Thompson is on, he's something else.

I know Sparty is in freefall, but Wisconsin looks impressive.

Oz probably needs something to brighten his day after his Steelers lost. With the Border War going on tonight in Lawrence, here ya go Oz:

Fun game in Lawrence tonight - Kansas 103, Missouri 86. Missouri's defense is softer than the Pillsbury Doughboy. Kansas shot 61 percent, which included a sizzling 4 of 14 performance by Tyshaun Taylor. And it happened without Josh Selby.

Definitely needed that. Would've liked to see some better defense, but given how KU dropped 103 points in conference play against a rival like Mizzou, there's really nothing to complain about. That game was a blast to watch.

Tyus Edney is laughing uncontrollably right now, and doesn't know why.
